The sites of Amuk Bay which are available from Padang Bay by boat are:
This considerable dive site is the largest site of Amuk’s Gilis. It takes only 30 minutes from Padang Bay by boat. You can dive on various sites around Tepekong depending on conditions.
Its canyon which has a wonderful structure, attracts pelagic fish such as sunfish, or sharks (white-tip or others), large napoleon fish and parrotfish. Its canyon looks like a huge rock due to the current.
Its corals are protected and calmer than the canyon where it became the hiding place for juvenile white-tip sharks, reef fish, nudibranchs and many others.
Because of its distance from the coast, this site can provide pleasant surprises at any time in its blue sea.
This dive site is composed of a group of 4 rocks near Tepekong; The southest rock has been damaged because of the Indonesian military testings in 1961 and 1962 – hence its broken structure. You will see hard and soft corals.
This site is full of small reef fish, white-tip sharks which are regularly cleaned by humphead parrotfish, napoleon fish, and turtles. This site is definitely interesting to explore.
Gili Minpang or Three rocks
It is the furthest site from Padang Bay which is famous for its shark caves.
If the conditions are good, you will be able to go in there and approach white-tip sharks that take a rest during the day (emotion guaranteed).
